Elder Reed and Sister Vicki Fanning, LDS Senior Missionaries

November 19, 2015

Thursday

We went to the Fresno Temple for a Zone Temple trip.  We had to be there about 9:00 for the 9:30 session.  The Temple was packed with people for the session.  It usually holds 40 people, but there were 57 for the session.

After we finished the session at the Temple, we went to Costco for shopping and gasoline.  We also had lunch at Wendy’s.

We got home about an hour and a half before we had to leave for Coalinga.  We had a meeting at the Base Chapel at 6 pm, and had to be in Coalinga between 5 and 6.  The drive between the two is 45 minutes.  We had to split up.  Sister Fanning drove to Coalinga for the Addiction Recovery Group. We had a new participant come for the group.  He is Spanish- speaking and we forgot to put a Spanish manual in the bag.  He followed along in English, but we will bring a Spanish manual next time. We also had the two regulars at the meeting.

Elder Fanning got a ride to the base from a retired military brother in the Ward.  Sister Fanning got to the base about a half hour late for the meeting.  There was a contingent of Catholics and one of Protestants, the Base Chaplain and his wife, all of the Chaplain’s staff plus a couple of volunteers.  We discussed the schedule and current and future plans for the chaplain’s office.  We had to leave the meeting a little early to be able to get to the Lemoore Addiction Recovery meeting on time.

We had three people at the Lemoore Addiction Recovery Meeting.  We discussed Step 1 on Honesty.  We chatted and had cookies afterwards.

We got home about 9:00.
