Elder Reed and Sister Vicki Fanning, LDS Senior Missionaries

January 25, 2016

This morning Heidi and Will had to be at the hospital at 6 am.  Elder Fanning took the girls to school.

We took Liam to lunch at Wendy’s and then went to Target for him to spend his gift card that he got for his birthday.  We also went to Deseret Book and got a couple of games:  Sleeping Queens and It Came to Pass.

Elder Fanning picked up the girls from school.  April came from Pocatello and arrived about the time the girls got out of school.

We played with some of the Lego’s Liam got and played Sleeping Queens with Liam and Bridget.

We got a text at 4:42 that told us the baby had been born:  5 pounds 14 ounces and 20 inches long.  Mother and baby were doing well, except the baby’s temperature and blood sugar were too low.  They had Heidi hold the baby skin-to-skin, and tried to get him to eat so his blood sugar would go up.  They supplemented her breast milk with formula for the first few feedings.

We had leftover pizza for dinner.  We had the kids get their homework done. We went to the hospital about 7:00.  We picked up soup for Will and Heidi for dinner.  We all got to see the baby, but no one was able to hold him.

We brought the kids home, got them ready for bed, and crashed for the night.
