Elder Reed and Sister Vicki Fanning, LDS Senior Missionaries

March 26, 2016

Saturday

We had our resiliency class this morning.  We were expecting more people.  We only had two couples out of six families.  The young women were there to provide child care.  The lesson was on spiritual self-reliance.  It looks like we will have to do another four make-up lessons.  We are not having a lesson next Saturday due to General Conference, so we have two weeks to do the lessons.

Elder Fanning dropped Sister Fanning off at a baby shower.  Even though she was late, they were just starting to eat lunch.  We had chicken salad sandwiches, fruit salad, veges and dip, and ice cream sundaes.  We spent a lot of time talking and then opened presents. The new Mom got lots of cute clothes for the baby. Sister Fanning got a ride home with one of the sisters from the Ward.

We prepared our Institute lesson.  It is on the second coming of Christ.  Sister Fanning prepared the PowerPoint and handout. We decided which parts of the lesson we would teach.  Sister Fanning was looking forward to teaching the parable of the ten virgins.

Sister Fanning went to the Women’s Conference Session at the chapel.  When she got there the doors were locked.  There was a misunderstanding, and the counselor in the Bishopric locked the two Relief Society sisters in when he left after setting up the media.  The sisters thought the doors were unlocked.  Sister Fanning made several phone calls, and the doors finally got opened.  We had ice cream sundaes for refreshments, and then watched the conference. It was a great session with some great talks.

Sister Fanning got home about 8:45.
